INTERNSHIPS
In our effort to construct this site there are a select number of unpaid internships available. If you are trying to increase your research skills on the internet and have a passion for Latin America this may be a good option for you.
We are looking for both undergraduate and graduate students who have a working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese and a good command of English. You should be able to provide a minimum commitment from five to ten hours a week and be available for a period of between six-months and one year. There are currently two types of assignments available:
- Content(Link) Research - You will be assigned in most cases a specialty of certain countries and sometimes particular areas ie. business, literature, ect. You should have sufficient computer skills with Microsoft products such as Word. You will also receive substantial instruction in research and developing an intuitive logic in the organization of this massive project.
- Content Development - You will be required to research and develop content specifically for this site. This is a writing position where you will be assigned specific topics in which to develop written material to be published on the site. interest you
- Our goal is to make the site user friendly and allow the visitor the ability to find what they need in regards to subjects about all of Latin America as opposed on relying on search engines. The human component is critical to the success of this site. .
Depending on the country you are specializing in you will be given the position of contributing editor - country name. This will also help you improve your resume for future positions you seek and letters of references will be gladly provided. You will become highly skilled at internet research and be prepared to offer such services to potential employers. Plus you will have had the experience in constructing what is to be the premiere directory on the internet site regarding Latin America.

1. After choosing an area of interest - please provide three suggested links which are not already in our directory. Provide the title of the page and the URL and what category it would be listed under. .
2. Along with the title of the page you must provide an annotation in clear and concise English. If you have a working knowledge of Spanish or Portuguese you should also include the annotation in that language also.
3. A detailed statement as to where you are studying or working and a statement of purpose.
